One hundred miles northwest of Idaho Falls, Leadore is a ghost town about seventeen miles south of Leadore, ID just off Hwy 28 on the road to Salmon, ID. There are quite a few buildings standing. Meadow Lake, a high mountain glacier lake, is just about five miles from the Gilmore townsite.

In Summary: This was a very short but interesting ride. The town site is private property and so you cannot go into the buildings, but driving down the streets trying to imagine what it was like is very interesting. Meadow Lake is at 9200 feet surrounded on three sides by high mountain, rocky peaks. It has a nice camp ground and is accessible with a camp trailer.
