East Fork Mink Creek, Box Canyon.
Level of Difficulty: 4-Advanced Beginner-6 Advanced Intermediate. Most of the trail is fairly level, wide and rock free, the look down Box canyon is a bit more challenging, I would say a 5 and then their is a bit of a hill climb that pushed my limit for climbing on very loose rocks. That part of the ride is easily avoidable as it was just a ride to the top of a peak and a return from the same.
Elevations: 5663' to 8612'
Starting Point Coordinates: N42°42.681'   W112°22.138'
Length of Trail: 22 miles
Approximate time: 3 hours
Date of Ride: June 21, 2008

Great ride, went with some friends from our church. One had a bike, KTM 300 and the others had a couple four wheelers. They indulged me as I wanted to cover some fresh ground that I hadn't GPS-ed before. I actually rode my bike from Pocatello, so the starting point is a ways down from where they unloaded, up at the base of Scout Mountain. Other than there being a lot of people riding, hiking, biking, etc. it was a great time to ride. (We almost needed traffic lights!) The Pocatello Trail Machine Association had organized a ride. They had about 50 camped of South Fork. This is such a perfect time to ride with everything so green and lush and dust is at a minimum. Much of the ride is real mellow, but I had to stretch myself a bit and see if I could climb a peak where I had taken my KDX 450(aka The Green Goat). It took a bit more effort and I didn't have quite enough momentum to make it all the way, but eventually got up there. It was a bit of a work out for a 50 year old!

Summary: There is a lot of great riding up here with a variety of riding levels. If you look at the Trail Creek-Cycle Trail you will find a lot more trails.
