Description: This was the first leg of a ride with my son that took us from Boise, ID to Lewistion, down the Oregon side of the Hells Canyon and back to Boise. We were in kind of a hurry as we got a late start, about 3 p.m, so I didn't get many pics on the way. It is a great ride in itself, but we were kind of focused on the ride through Hells Canyon area that we did the next day.

Summary: A good ride that you can do in about 7 hours with a few stops on the way. Highway 55 to Cascade has some nice twisties along the Payette River. From Cascade to White Bird is a beautiful ride through timber and green valleys. The road is well maintained and not the heavily travelled. After dropping off of White Bird Pass you come into a flat farming area by Grangeville, then you drop down again into Lewiston, which is only about 600 ft in elevation. There are a lot of places to ride from Lewiston, north towards Coeur d'Alene, ID or east towards Missoula, MT over Lolo Pass.
